ADMITTED STUDENT DAY

ASD Events: February 16, 20, 27
or March 6, 2026

Registration begins in November!

PLACEMENT TESTING
SIGN-UP

All incoming first-year students admitted to UWSP are required to complete placement tests in Math and English. These tests are designed to place you in the most appropriate college level courses. Testing must be completed before you can register for classes.

Registration begins in March!

ORIENTATION

In-person orientation is where you will receive your PointCard (student ID), learn about campus resources, and familiarize yourself with the location of your classes and residence hall. Orientation is a required event. Parents and guests are welcome to attend.

Registration begins in March!

ACADEMIC ADVISING

During your academic advising appointment, you’ll meet one-on-one with an adviser to select your courses for the upcoming semester. Watch your UWSP email for notifications.

Appointment scheduling begins in March!

PARKING

Parking permits open up in July.

Watch your UWSP email and the parking website closely in June and July to learn what date you can join the parking permit queue. Students need to be registered for classes in order to be eligible for a permit.

Permits are limited and do typically sell out, so the earlier you join the queue the better chance you have to secure a parking permit.

Visit the UWSP Parking website to learn more.

REMEMBER TO

SCHEDULE A VISIT

There’s no better way to picture your future than by seeing it in person! Visiting UWSP gives you the chance to explore campus, meet future classmates, and get a real feel for student life. Come see why so many students choose to start here and thrive!

Explore our visit opportunities.

JOIN THE FAMILY PORTAL

Many of our students go through the college journey with a strong support system and we are here for them, too! UWSP offers a Family Portal designed to keep parents, guardians, and supporters in the loop on all things Pointer life.

Encourage your crew to join the Family Portal and stay connected every step of the way!

MINNESOTA RESIDENTS ONLY

If you reside in Minnesota and meet residency requirements at a Minnesota public institution, you may be eligible for reciprocity benefits.

The reciprocity application is available beginning in March.

SEND FINAL TRANSCRIPTS

Make sure official copies of your final high school transcript, any college transcripts, and AP/IB test scores are sent to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.

While some high schools send transcripts automatically, we recommend checking with your school counselor to confirm the process and ensure everything is submitted.

UPDATE YOUR MAJOR

If your interests have changed since you applied, you can update your major online.

Click "Change Intended Major" in the Admission Tile on accesSPoint.

CLASSES BEGIN

Classes begin September 2, 2026.
