Below you will find a list of key actions, opening dates and deadlines. Please complete these next steps in a timely manner!

WORK ON NOW

ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT AND EMAIL

Use the UWSP ID # (from your admit letter/email) and your Social Security # to retrieve your UWSP username and activate your email account.

Activating your account does not commit you to enroll at UWSP at Wausau. However, it is an important first step that unlocks access to next steps including the scholarship application and course registration.

ACCEPT YOUR ADMISSION

Accepting your admission does not commit you to enroll at UWSP at Wausau. However, it does guarantee your spot for fall 2026!

Students who accept their admission also receive priority access to register for Admitted Student Day, Orientation and Academic Advising.

FINANCIAL AID

FAFSA is now open! You can complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to list UWSP's school code: 003924.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Admitted students can apply for all first-year institutional scholarships conveniently through one application.

Final deadline is 
August 14, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. CT.

HOUSING OPTIONS

Looking for housing near campus? While UWSP at Wausau doesn't offer on-campus residence halls, there are several convenient options nearby.

One great choice is the Timberwolf Suites, a privately-owned student apartment community located right on the bus line. It offers fully furnished studio and 2-bedroom apartments, with amenities like high-speed internet, study rooms and a fitness center.

PLACEMENT TESTING
SIGN-UP

 All incoming first-year students admitted to UWSP are required to complete placement tests in Math and English. These tests are designed to place you in the most appropriate college level courses. Testing must be completed before you can register for classes.

Registration begins in March!

ORIENTATION

Orientation is where you will receive your PointCard (student ID), learn about campus resources, and familiarize yourself with the location of your classes. Orientation is a required event.

ACADEMIC ADVISING

During your academic advising appointment, you’ll meet one-on-one with an adviser to select your courses for the upcoming semester. Watch your UWSP email for notifications.

JOIN THE FAMILY PORTAL

Many of our students go through the college journey with a strong support system and we are here for them, too! UWSP offers a Family Portal designed to keep parents, guardians, and supporters in the loop on all things UWSP.

Encourage your crew to join the Family Portal and stay connected every step of the way!

MINNESOTA RESIDENTS ONLY

If you reside in Minnesota and meet residency requirements at a Minnesota public institution, you may be eligible for reciprocity benefits.

The reciprocity application is available beginning in March.

SEND FINAL TRANSCRIPTS

Make sure official copies of your final high school transcript, any college transcripts, and AP/IB test scores are sent to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.

While some high schools send transcripts automatically, we recommend checking with your school counselor to confirm the process and ensure everything is submitted.

UPDATE YOUR MAJOR

If your interests have changed since you applied, you can update your major online.

Click "Change Intended Major" in the Admission Tile on accesSPoint.
